TEACH Grant Counseling
Because of the unique eligibility and service requirements of the TEACH Grant program as well as the conversion from grant to loan when the obligation is not met, eligible students wishing to receive initial TEACH Grant funding must got through a 2-step (initial and award) counseling process. Students seeking renewal in subsequent years still must complete the annual award counseling requirement.
INITIAL COUNSELING To verify that a student understands the teaching requirement and to receive an overview of the program, college and program-specific counseling is the first step in the awarding process.
Students who believe they qualify for TEACH and wish to be considered for the grant should begin by scheduling a counseling session with the staff noted below.
AWARD COUNSELING NOTE: Students will need to supply confirmation from initial counseling or have a previous award to participate in this level of TEACH counseling.
Following the initial counseling or to renew a TEACH Grant in subsequent years, students will meet with the following staff to receive required counseling and have a TEACH Grant award made.
