Re-Applying for Aid

You must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year. You should complete your application as soon after January 1 as possible. Because some aid programs are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis, an early application receives priority consideration for limited funding sources.

  • You should complete the FAFSA on the Web. Students who had aid last year can use their U.S. Department of Education PIN number to access a pre-populated FAFSA online so that only items that would change (class level, income information, etc.) need to be completed for the new year.

  • Students needing to complete the paper FAFSA will need to print a PDF version from www.fafsa.ed.gov or call 1-800-4-FED-AID to be mailed a FAFSA.

Also, check with any agencies or organizations that offer you scholarships. Some scholarships have automatic renewal and others require an annual application.

Use the scholarship search a couple times a year as well. Sometimes scholarships are directed to upperclass students. Don't limit the scholarship search to only your freshman year.
