Cincinnatus Scholarship Program

NEW December 1st Admission Application Deadline for Cincinnatus Consideration!

The Cincinnatus Scholarship Program at the University of Cincinnati transforms the typical scholarship application process into a dynamic interactive event that celebrates student leadership, academic excellence, and personal growth. Rather than filling out tedious forms, the brightest and most promising prospective freshmen will be invited to accept a renewable scholarship award or compete on campus for more than $18 million in University of Cincinnati four-year scholarships.

To be considered for awards, incoming freshmen with a minimum 3.2 unweighted high school GPA must have a complete application for admission (including a high school-submitted transcript and official test scores sent directly from testing agencies) by December 1st of their senior year.  Eligible scholars will be determined by academic program.

COMPETITION INVITATIONS
Again, only students whose admission application (including transcript and official test scores) are complete by December 1, 2009, will be considered for scholarship awards.

  • New for 2010: Qualifying students will be awarded $2,000 Century-level scholarships.
  • New for 2010: Eligible students being considered for upper-level awards will be invited to compete on campus February 5 or 12, 2010.

Scholarship offers or invitations to compete will be mailed to the highest achieving students in their selected academic program. Based on institutional enrollment goals, additional students may be invited at the discretion of the university.

Cincinnatus is not just another scholarship program. With its focus on community service, students turn their unique experience, aptitudes, and abilities into a quality education at the University of Cincinnati.

Students invited to compete on campus will be assessed on academic abilities, creative skills and leadership potential. Aptitude for community service will be an important criterion, since service is a highly regarded value of the university and at the heart of the scholarship's namesake.

Other aspects of the competition day will be vibrant speakers, a special luncheon and an informative program for parents.

Details on the RSVP process and event will be in the invitation sent to each eligible scholar in late December.
